And to you and yours, sir. I don't know if you do Santa, but if you do, I just want to let you know that it gets more fun every year. My youngest is seven this Christmas, and surely this will be the last year he still believes in Santa. Next year Santa will no longer live in my house, and it breaks my heart. But I've had a really good run of twelve years over three kids, so heaven knows I can't complain. My memories as Santa/Dad will rank right up there with my own childhood memories of the season.

Today's feast will be a beef roast, marinaded in white wine and various herbs and spices, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with herbs and butter, Shiraz. For dessert a drunken mincemeat tart; bourbon, brandy and Myers rum.
During the opening of gifts, the [family] traditional pineapple fritters and champaign.
I'll be spending most of the morning in the kitchen working towards those objectives.
And loving almost every minute of it.
