You don't have to go any further than your deck to find all the global warming.

Comments

Remember! Weather and global warming do not necessarily reflect on one another.

Unless it's HOT. Or there's a hurricane. Or a tsunami.

Everybody immediately points to (and the press is fixated on) CO2, but there are many other possible explanations; such as, warming of the Earth's core, changes on the sun, and natural temperature fluctuations much the same as the Earth has gone throughout it's history.

Why is it that people are so fixed to jump on a bandwagon? It's almost laughable.

The REAL SCIENTIFIC FACTS are that we know much less about atmospherics than we do know. The whole "humans are ruining the earth" is based on fear and emotion.

Or the Goracle's in town.....

The new focus and selling point for the Global Warming enthusiasts is that man made Co2 won't cause just discernable warming but simply "climate change'.

Under the rubric of climate change, you can prove every weather event had something to do with the dreaded scourge of man-made CO2 emissions (but not the nice fluffy-bunny naturally made emissions from forest fires, volcanoes and the like).

Thus as man made co2 causes global warming and resultant climate change, this unseasonable cold snap must also be a result of the evil man made co2 and something must be done asap, or a new theory to amke you feel guilty about your lifestyle and try to constrain and US economy will be developed stat.

Actually, if you guys had bothered to actually acquaint yourself with the science of climate change, you would know that virtually all global warming models predict generally colder conditions in North America and Europe despire higher average temperatures for the Earth as a whole. This is because Europe and North America are warmed by the gulf stream, which will be diluted as a consequence of increased melting of Arctic ice.

Of course, next time there's a hot summer's day, Alex Knapp will be reminding us that the global warming models predict lots of hot days ...

Hey Alex! So let me see if I have this straight:

Warming in the north will cause a melting of the polar ice caps, which will interfere with the gulf stream, which will cause cooling in the north, which will cause the ice caps to grow, returning the gulf stream to normal.

Sounds like a self-correcting system to me.

What really irritates me about this global warming is that the sea level is going to rise by twenty feet. In spite of this fact, my government insists on using my tax dollars to rebuild a city that is seventeen feet below the present sea level. What's next? Shall we try to save Atlantis?

Burt, don't give them any ideas.

If you think that, you might try looking up where, exactly, the Gulf stream is. And, you know, reading some of the actual scientific literature on global warming instead of relying on talking points from Michael Crichton.

Well Alex, if you truly understood, or were being honest, you'd mention the fact that the same flawed computer models the AGW crowd is pushing that predict all of these catastrophes also predict that the southern hemisphere and Antarctica should be warming even faster, when in fact they are cooling.

But, never miss an opportunity to mislead I guess. If I hear another AGW nitwit go on about Kilimanjaro I think I'm going to hurl. There are numerous peer reviewed papers that point out that global warming has nothing at all to do with the receding glacier/icecap on Kilimanjaro. Temperatures there have actually remained stable and even decreased slightly, the loss of the ice is due to a century long process of deforestation and land use changes that have resulted in localized changes in rain and snow fall. But the AGW mediots still trot it out as an example of global warming.

Either they are lying thru their teeth, or incompetent, or more likely both.
