Bill Nienhuis rips the Dems a new one. Here's a taste:
Why is it that politicians who are desperate to regain power, who don’t have a focused message, and whose party has no unified platform, retreat to the promiseland to invest in commitments they can’t keep?
Politicians of all stripes make this mistake. Today, it’s the Democratic Party’s turn.
After reading what follows, I can't wait to see what Bill has to say about the Republicans.
I'm just gobsmacked that the Democratic plan for security includes most of the stuff they've told us was wrong when the Bush administration did it or talked about it.
They also won't set a date for withdrawing from Iraq, when that's been their big talking point on the subject for almost three years now...
Yup, you're right, they should set a date for withdrawal like the brave and clever Rumsfeld...
"I can't say if the use of force would last five days or five weeks or five months, but it certainly isn't going to last any longer than that."
ps. You should be gobsmacked.

I seriously think that's because the guy doing it had a -R after his name instead of a -D.

Maybe I'm missing something, but when did telling the other side how long they have to hold out for in order to win become a good idea?
My reading of military history has left me with the impression that making the other side think "They're going to keep killing us and wrecking our stuff until we surrender" is the way to go.
rosignol, indeed, I see! You're right! We can clearly see that the enemy is in the 'last throes' of their efforts, so the tactic must be working!!
