Played paintball at a bachelor's party some years back. It was a MOUT environment; a warehouse in Denver full of crates, pallets and camo netting.

I and a former Navy SEAL sniper, on the same team, got back-to-back at a choke point and took out about 10 of the opposition before one of them got a fix and then position on us and my buddy said, I'm hit. They got me about two minutes later.

It was a hoot.

Personally, I prefer the Army's MILES [Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System]. But we poor mortals can't afford such....yet.

Nothing like using two TOW anti-tank vehicles and taking out an entire company of main battle tanks in a running engagement. We only lost one loader, who was standing up to watch the battle and was, as far as we can tell, carried away by a tank main gun round. It was the 'cue' for that TOW system to displace to the next battle position.

Check out Roger's blog, he mentioned the Blog gathering. I don't have everyone's email but could use some fun support as he referred to my Dart game as unconventional and I said it was style. Hope all is well with family!

Not done paintball. I have done air soft, though. No paint so hits are on the honor system. And you get to run around in the woods. And get poison oak rashes. And find out that woodland camo really does work if you hold really still.

Never heard of a face shield? How VERY odd.

Such a person is more dangerous to themselves than anyone else. I think I took four head/face shots. The face shield preserved my good looks.

The body shots, I hardly felt. But the welts were positively 'stunning'. I think my female liberal boss at USWEST was about to faint when she saw the one on my upper arm.

I didn't bother showing her the ones on the abdomen, thighs, back and buttocks. [Note: I admit I tend towards my berserker genes; 100% Viking blood.]

Back in me wild impetchus yoot I organized a charity paintball event at S.C. Village in California between a National Guard battalion and about 1200 paintballers.
