The Democrats are backbiting and excuse-mongering over the next election already.
My gut-check prediction that the Republicans will gain seats this November is looking like a safe bet.
I'm surprised they haven't filed suit already, claiming fraud.
>>And Senator Barbara Boxer, also a California Democrat, said: "We have a strategy. First is to convince the American people that what's happening in Washington is not working. We have achieved that. Now we have to, at this stage, convince people that we are the ones to bring positive change."
Typical Democratism: They have to convince people that things are bad when in fact things are great. The more doom and gloom the better, because "they" can "fix" it.
No thanks.
Not that I'm completely happy about it, but I agree with your view that the R's will gain seats come November. I'd like to see some house-cleaning done, but if the alternative is D's gain in Congress, I'll stick with the semi-corrupt R's we have now.
NET gain, I take it? My man Conrad Burns is taking a hell of a beating here in MT. It didn't help that he released a conepone ad calling the Dems' charges "a whole pile o' yew-know-whut" last month. I hope he can pull it together. He's not that bad...not really. He supports the prez anyway.
George W. Bush is the luckiest man on earth, and his party benefits from his good fortune. Anyone else would be looking at a (more) hostile Congress come January.
It also appears Democrats with presidential ambitions have decided it is to their benefit to lose the mid-terms and point fingers. It is an utterly insane strategy, but one that appears popular among the contenders--which makes complete sense the more I consider it.
The only way the Democrats win seats is if a recession is declared and the Iranians fire off a bomb in election week...
