Stuff and Things
Posted by Stephen Green · 15 December 2005
Amongst other Christmastime chores, I'm busy getting the house in shape for our annual Choliday Party (not a typo), so no blogging. Meanwhile, does anyone have at least $25,000 they'd like to donate to the VodkaPundit Rec Room? Thanks to John Lanius for the great find. He knows me all too well. Comments
I am fascinated by the people bidding on this item. Posted by: Karol at December 16, 2005 01:14 AMI saw that at Comic-Con. I've never wanted to steal something so badly in my entire life. Except the lorry with 50-odd kegs of Guinness we saw in Dublin. That definitely was the most stealable thing I've ever seen. And it was running. But the Star Destroyer is a close second. Posted by: Matt Navarre at December 16, 2005 02:15 AM$25,000? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gasp* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! I read blogs. Do you seriously think I would have $25,000 lying around? Posted by: Mikey at December 16, 2005 06:11 AMOnly $25K? Shoot, that's spare change. Er, I think I left it in my other pants, the ones sent to the cleaners. I'll have the maid's butler run down and pick it up. Posted by: rbj at December 16, 2005 06:52 AMDo what football teams do. Sell the naming rights to your rec room for the funding! I think I just pulled my geek muscle. Posted by: Garrett at December 16, 2005 08:22 AMWhat do you need $25K for? You're having a baby - it's toyland. Just put cushy walls up. Keeping those little pieces in 1 room make them easier to vaccuum up. Posted by: Sandy P at December 16, 2005 08:43 AMGlad you liked the link, Steve. $25,000? It was only $16K when I last looked. Spend some of that crazy PJ Media Ad Money you have lying around. Chappy Cholidays! Posted by: JohnL at December 16, 2005 09:42 AMMaybe Steve could sell the naming rights for his firstborn? Posted by: Fredrik Nyman at December 16, 2005 10:53 AMDude - No way! That is so frickin Cool!!! Posted by: DC Carter at December 16, 2005 11:03 AM"Lego Master Builder Erik Varszegi" How does one get that job, exactly? And do they have any openings? Posted by: John at December 16, 2005 11:10 AMJohn- You audition. The last search was in 2003. And for $25,000, I damn well better be able to blow stuff up with it. Posted by: Ian Wood at December 16, 2005 02:14 PMTO: Stephen Green "Amongst other Christmastime chores, I'm busy getting the house in shape for our annual Choliday Party..." -- Stephen Green ...how it is that even avowed atheists such as yourself 'observe' this holiday. I attribute it to the fact that God put the concept of 'eternity' in us....even the atheists observe this celebration....one way or another. Merry Christmas.... Regards, Chuck(le) Posted by: Chuck Pelto at December 16, 2005 03:18 PMP.S. Or.... ...are you just something of a non-conforming 'conformist'? Posted by: Chuck Pelto at December 16, 2005 03:29 PMHow come he kind of looks like Vodka? Posted by: Sandy P at December 16, 2005 04:07 PMTO: Sandy P "How come he kind of looks like Vodka?" -- Sandy P ...but he's not quite as wishy-washy as so much vodka. Merry Christmas! Chuck(le) You, too! Posted by: Sandy P at December 16, 2005 04:54 PMTO: Sandy P "You, too!" -- Sandy P I like mine "colder than ice-cold". However, Stephen Green would probably be an unappetizing shade of 'blue', at that point. Regards, Chuck(le) Posted by: Chuck Pelto at December 16, 2005 05:33 PM$25,000?!? Hell, Stephen, you're going to need a whole lot more than that. Think 'room addition', my friend. You're going to need it for that beast, the ImpStar, and the Death Star you want. Man that thing is big... Posted by: Greg at December 16, 2005 10:51 PMI was worried that I was out of touch, but I had a similar reaction to the 25k. Lets face it you're gonna need a sweet flat screen, wine cellar, small gym and an arcade version of Galaga. Looks like 50 -60k to me. Posted by: Pursuit at December 17, 2005 09:19 AMYou know, Steve, I would ask you to update my link, but as there isn't one here, I have no reason to add to your holiday burdern ;) Peace and calm to you, and if I had it, a few grand for the rec room. Posted by: Rae at December 17, 2005 12:36 PMThe man has a 2800 sf. house, IIRC and it's already too small.(!) I might have to peruse your archives, I'm getting a new kitchen next year. Do you have a warming drawer? I am going for broke (not in the literal sense - well, ask my husband and you might get a different answer) 6-burner cooktop. This is my 1 shot to get it right. Posted by: Sandy p at December 17, 2005 04:00 PMI am a frequent overseas lottery winner. I will forward my next lottery winning notification to you, feel free to keep all the money as I've won so much now I can't possibly spend it all. Posted by: Becker at December 18, 2005 09:04 AMTO: Sandy P "The man has a 2800 sf. house, IIRC and it's already too small.(!)" -- Sandy P Maybe he should consider moving to Pueblo. I've got 6500 sf. And it probably cost me about as much as he could get for what he owns right now. Not to mention that he probably could do what he does from ANYPLACE that can get access to the web. Merry Christmas!
