I dare you to tell me that doesn't bring a little light into the day. I mean yeah he's a Leftist and all, but he's a good sort of cove and just the sort to...be entertaining.
He has some good ideas in his campaign (make Mexican owned PeMex oil company pay for giving us unlimited immigrants, legalized gambling) but I'm sure it's just a phase. Meanwhile, the jokes would flow and he'd use the Texas governorship the way it was meant to be used; pushing detective novels.
He's independent which means he would have precisely zero power in a weak office, and who doesn't want that? It's the ones with idea what scare me.

When my wife and I were looking for a place to settle when we returned to the U.S., she suggested California because of the weather, and we'd be close to her brother. "Absolutely, positively, categorically no," I told her. She asked why.
"Because California is fucked."
I think that's pretty much it, in a nutshell. She is an immigrant and has since come to agree with me, and nothing we've seen in intervening years has done anything to dispell our beliefs.
Makes sense to me. There’s a lot of over lap in the critical skills required for the two careers today.
For example, the better the actor or politician is at pretending to be someone he is not, the more money he can earn.

If you're bored and looking for something to do, watch West Wing re-runs on Bravo TV. The re-runs are quite illuminating, really. Now that Hollywood brainiacs such as Sorkin - not to mention the fearsome brainpower of Barbra Streisand - have stopped trying to defeat the re-election of Bush via TV shows like West Wing, it's really quite informative to look back on their failure.
My favorite WW re-runs are the ones where the senior White House staff talk of the need to take out Saddam militarily.
