Just witnessed the fine end to a fine Game Five of the NLCS.
Now if my Cards can pull out two more wins in the next two games...
Just listened to the post game on KMOX, Wayne Hagen asked Albert if this was the biggest homer of his career, until game 6. Albert said, "Believe it."
Let's go Cards!!!!
JunkHead
All praise to Albert, but let's give Eckstein his due. I don't think there's any two players in baseball I'd rather have than Pujols and Eckstein.
What an amazing inning.
Yeah, but that Berkman whack in the seventh was a moment, wasn't it?
I grew up outside St. Louis. When the Cards were down 4-2 in the 9th, with one out to go, I left the couch, telling my boyfriend I couldn't bear to watch.
A few minutes later I heard him hootin' and hollerin' in the living room, even through my headphones.
Meanwhile, here in Houston, it's the End of Days. Champagne had been delivered to the Astros' clubhouse. Champagne! And a podium brought in! C'mon, once you bring in the champagne and the podiums, it's all over! Everybody knows that! 4-2! We were up 4-2! Muahaha.
Now let's hope the Cardinals don't manage to screw it up.
Stephen, glad to know that you are a believer in the one true faith. They've finally shown some life. Got to take care of business now. BTW, I don't know Spanish, is "Pujohls" Spanish for God?
ed: Berkman's "whack" is a routine fly out in most other parks.
The White Sox are going to destroy whomever comes out of this series.
