Everything Sucks
Posted by Stephen Green  ·   4 August 2005

Oh, lord:

A teenage Israeli soldier shot dead four people in a blazing row over the country's imminent withdrawal from Gaza before being lynched by furious residents of an Arab-Israeli town.

The shooting, the first deadly incident connected to Israel's controversial plan to uproot all troops and settlers from Gaza and parts of the northern West Bank, heightened fears about possible violence during the historic pullout.

The 19-year-old religiously observant Jew, dressed in army fatigues, unleashed a volley of fire inside a bus in the northern Galilee town of Shfaram in an argument over the pullout, police said.

Four Israeli Arab passengers died in the hail of bullets. The gunman was lynched by a furious crowd as hundreds flocked to the blood-smeared bus in a Druze neighbourhood of Shfaram shortly after the attack, police and witnesses said.

Israel has three strageic options. They can pull out of Gaza and (most of) the West Bank, expell every Arab from those lands, or become an apartheid state. As this story shows, even the least bad of the three options is still... well, nothing better than "the least bad."

And things will get worse before they get better.

In a way the worst thing that Israel did after the 67 war was to occupy Gaza and the West Bank. If anything, all they did was adopt and unruly population that now in hindsight, I'm betting even money Egypt and Jordan are glad to be rid of.

In reality, the only solid option is withdrawl. The other two will only make the situation worse, if that's somehow possible.

well it is good to see the detritus at the donk underground using one isolated attack to justify all Pal violence....

No bet- IIRC, after the war, Jordan refused to take the west bank back.

note how the people of that village took their justified revenge on a murderer. They didn't wait for the "authorities" in either their town or another. They didn't put the kid in prison, only to release him later as some part of a disgusting "peace" deal. They didn't @#$# around. They saw a problem and solved it.

Meanwhile, my own people arrest terrorists and put them in jail "for life". A "terrorist" (read mass murderer) can mow down a row of school girls, be put in jail "for life", and then be traded as a deal. As though this is baseball and we're trading players.

The arabs fire off missile after missile. They mortar town after town. We retreat from Lebanon, and Hisbullah is now a world organization. We make a "deal" with a dirt poor, out of power scumbag and he becomes a nobel prize winner in charge of an armed camp. We dig up the @#$@#$ing bodies of our dead from Gaza so the graves won't be desecrated and we give 1.3 million arabs easy access to all the smuggling routes they could ever want.

Unfortunately there is no furious crowd among the Israelis.

Sum of all fears anyone?

Now wheres Jack Ryan when you need him.

rosignol, thats what I was saying. Jordan had its own problems with the Palestinians in the West Bank so losing it to Israel was a plus for them.

Posted by: Billy Fish at August 5, 2005 06:26 AM

The Real kicker will come when Gaza and the West Bank are surrendered and it just increases the terroriam. After all, when something works, you keep doing it. Of course, if Iran isn't dealt with, there might not be a West Bank to withdraw from. I suspect the Iranian ICBM's will live up to the Iranian reputation for technical excellence. Eventually someone will exterminate the Muslims. The question is will it be us or China? China has no problem waiting until we surrender to Islam. They understand that Western Civilization will become an enormous 3rd world hellhole under the Ulama. It lets the Chinese back into a superpower status. China has the will to do what is needed to end Islam.

Billy Fish, the West Bank was part of the Land given to the Joooos by the British to establish Israel. The 'title deed' says "All land WEST of the Jordan". The original plan required the Arabs living in what would be Israel that had a problem with jooos to relocate to what was then called Trans-Jordan. Look it up. The White Paper of 1939. The West Bank was captured by Arabs during the '48 war. In '67 the Israeli RECAPTURED it. The ocupation thingie is a propaganda device. Notice that the Arabs NEVER called for the creation of Palestrine while Gaza and the West Bank were under Arab control. The Arabs want Israel and the Jews destroyed. They will settle for NOTHING less. All the diplomatic posturing is just a step toward that goal. If Israel vanished tommorrow, there would still be no Palestine. Egypt, Syria and Jordan would occupy what was once Israel and split it amongst themselves.

The purpose behind giving up Gaza and the West Bank is NOT to reduce terrorism in the short term.

It is to give Israel the cover to seal itself off from Palestine (except for letting in laborers at Israel's discretion) so it can be rid of the Palestinian problem once and for all. (With Gaza and the West Bank out, all Israel will have to deal with is the "right of return" stuff, but that's less compelling.)

It is a long-term solution to the problem, not a response to recent attacks.

It is not designed to make the Palestinians happy.
