I was going to see Star Wars tonight -- it's just after midnight London time. Then I got busy doing really fun stuff, and put it off until tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow is coming up awfully fast, and we're already making other plans...
There's a slight chance I won't see the movie until after we get back to the States -- the movie I've been waiting to see for 28 years.
But you know what? If I have to wait a week, London makes the wait more than worth it. I'm in love with this town, and with the people even more.
UPDATE: You know what sucks about blogging on London time? I don't get my fresh Bleat until tomorrow morning. That's just unAmerican.
I hope you ..
Mind The Gap
Enjoy the Cuban cigars and the fine fresh ales and the great Thai food and the little French and Italian Restaurants and the museums, and the art galleries, and the old bookstores and print shops and the little hidden gardens and the big formal gardens and the pubs with hanging flower baskets and the old churches and St. Martin in the Fields and its little cafe in the catacombs and St. Paul's and Covent Gardens and the pretty things of Knightsbride and the Tower and Westminster and Poet's Corner and Speaker's Corner and Bushy Park and Richmond Park and Hampton Court and Windsor Castle and Eton and a play or two in the West End and some music at the Royal Albert Hall (where I saw Elvis Costello) or Perhaps Earl's Court (where I saw Pink Floyd) or the Battersea Power Station and the Royal Observatory at Greenwich where you can stand on 0 latitude (you do know you are in GMT time now) and Charing Cross Nelson's Column and if you have any extra time you can journey out into the magnificent Surrey countryside or off to Salisbury, Kent, Cambridge, Oxford, Bath, Oatlands (my old stomping grounds), etc...
Yes, London is a great place to visit and to live, Red Ken notwithstanding. Enjoy it!
P.S. Have you seen any trainspotters yet?
Oh, and Harrods, don't forget Harrods.
(My apologies for the lousy punctuation and grammar.)
I'm sorry, but if you are in London and you take time out to see a Star Wars movie it is time for an intervention.
Oddly, this is true even if you live in London.
Funny that you say that. I always save The Bleat to read with my coffee.
Sometimes I get the idea that Steve drinks his coffee at about 1 AM.
Hell, I would, too, if I didn't have a day job.
Honestly you can sit on your posterior and watch that movie in El Paso....gheez I'm jealous you are in London...any gomer can sit and watch sith...
I love London. I want to go back as soon as I can.
Safe travels.
I hope your loving London. You must head to the Sanderson hotel and have martinis. They are the best in the world...literally. Cucumber was my personal favorite.
Enjoy!!
Want Alex and I to wait for you? We haven't seen it yet, either. And we don't have a good excuse like London. (Does Opus in Denver count?)
And which show did Melissa and her mom end up getting to see? Or did they?
