On the whole, I'd rather be in Playa del Carmen

My wife and I were just in that area two weeks ago. Spent a day walking through/around Playa del Carmen (there is a pedestrian-only touristy-shops area), took the ferry to Cozumel for a short walk-around. We didn't hit any of the beaches there (we spent most of our time in Xcaret, south of Playa del Carmen) but they looked great. The weather was a welcome change from the snow and cold of the northeast US.
oh I wish I was there instead of here on this cold and rainey Colorado morning.
