Lileks promised us "something big" today -- and, boy, did he deliver.
NOTE: I used to work in radio. Just because my own talents were too meager to take me very far in the business, doesn't mean I don't know good radio when I hear it. And this is good radio.
Nothing like what I expected. But very good!
I guess that's why Lileks has accomplished what he has, and the rest of us slap our foreheads out of chagrin for how obvious the idea is - after he's done it. I've never heard the man before, and I don't know if he has a real radio background, but I did have to grin at how he clearly rolled out the "radio voice" (see, e.g., Harry Shearer, collected works) as part of the experiment.
