Hoo-boy:
The good folks over at the Mendota Beacon, myself included, were surprised to learn that we were, in fact, not real journalists. . .
Click on over to find out what makes a "real" journalist.
HINT: It ain't a fedora, a press card, a notebook, or even a Columbia University degree.
Oh. Is that all.
Hmm. I guess I'm a journalist then. My byline is my e-mail address.
Three jobs - where will I find the time?
Not a fedora? Damn, that hat salesman lied to me.
Haven't you been listening? It's the gay male escort website that makes you a journalist...
err..Isn't "Posted by" a byline?
Ask "journalists" to define their craft and no two answers will agree. Gannon/Gekert was accused of not being a "real" journalist and Talon news not a "real" news organization, yet somehow the left viewed the resignation of this "unreal" journalist as an event on par with rather and jordan. It would appear that the title journalist exists only to service the egos of those so insecure they need to subordinate those who disagree. If the MSM can't define themselves, someone else (like the blogs) will.
