Because I live on the Front Range and I have a camera, that's why.
Does it look different this morning? A bit whiter perhaps?

"Yes, at this point the sun is looking good coming up over the range. But let's not overhype this. One sun coming up today doesn't insure the process will continue productively. There's a real possibility here that the process will break down in the immediate future."--John Kerry
Damnit, ed, you took my question!
We got about 2-3 inches in my neck of north Denver metro; how was it in the Springs, Herr Vodka?
About 12 inches South of you in Canon.
Now you just need a UV filter. ;)
A little too much flare, not that I should talk. Maybe try it when the sun is just coming over the mtns.
I was actually going for flare that evening. Removed the lens hood and the UV filter, and set the exposure for the foreground, not the sunset.
But I did use the polarizing filter, hence all that nice blue in the sky. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure it would have been completely washed out.
