Early Returns Late

New Hampshire, Michigan, Iowa, Nevada and Oregon are all trending Kerry. Wisconsin, Ohio, Florida and New Mexico are trending Bush.

Votes leaning Kerry = 40.

Votes leaning Bush = 62.

When you say Wisconsin, you've said it all!!

Thank you to whatever Dem moron decided to have an outdoor rally on November 1 in Wisconsin.

The local abc affiliate in Richmond, Virginia says that the local Democrats haven't given up on Virginia swinging for Kerry after the northern counties around D.C. are counted. This was reported without rebuttal, even though everyone has already called Virginia and it was never in play.

Posted by: shell at November 2, 2004 09:29 PM

Trending Bush? 92% of the votes are in in Florida and Bush is up by 4 %. That's a state that should be called by now. What liberal bias in the media?

Posted by: elgato at November 2, 2004 09:30 PM

I've seen Wisconsin change pretty quick in previous elections... so that's not dead yet - though I'm definitely heartened. I think it's the order precincts tend to report in... usually can surge Democrat.

Ohio has been very flat in its reporting... its been 52/48 pretty consisitently.

How does Iowa and Nevada effect things if they break Kerry?

Remember - the magic number is 169.

Posted by: Nick at November 2, 2004 09:33 PM

Kerry's up 60-40 in Oregon, but only 52% of precincts have reported - mostly in the hinterlands, which is Bush territory. I'd look for the gap to close up a lot, but probably not enough to give Bush a win here, much as I'd like my state to go for Bush (just to make some of the local yokels around here nuts).

Colorado has just been colored in red. Does anybody know official numbers confirming this?

Posted by: Garrett at November 2, 2004 09:36 PM

From where I sit in Hampton Roads, Virginia is in the bag for Bush. 89% in and 300,000 vote lead.

Done and Dusted.

Posted by: El Jefe at November 2, 2004 09:36 PM

Drat! Should've said that the hinterlands have mostly *not* reported - damn this semisobercommenting!

Posted by: Brian Swisher at November 2, 2004 09:37 PM

Milwaukee came in and tied up WI.

Posted by: David [.net] at November 2, 2004 09:38 PM

Only Clark and Washoe counties have been reporting from Nevada. These may be the only counties that do not go heavily for Bush. Of course they are the 2 most populous but expect Nevada to turn around.

Posted by: Pat H at November 2, 2004 09:41 PM

Don't forget Hawaii. Those electoral votes could come up big late tonight.

Once burned, twice shy. The MSM has very good reason to not take chances where FL.US us concerned.

Posted by: rosignol at November 2, 2004 09:46 PM

I'm just worried about Rhode Island. That will tell the tale.

Posted by: Eduardo at November 2, 2004 09:53 PM

Damn it Milwaukee. Only idiots live there, obviously.

Posted by: Eric in Milwaukee at November 2, 2004 09:57 PM

Dang, I thought Bush had a chance in DC.

Posted by: McGehee at November 2, 2004 10:09 PM

Rhode Island is as blue as they come. So it was a pleasant surprise to see some townships breaking red this time.

Posted by: David in Providence at November 2, 2004 10:09 PM

Don't believe the early returns for Nevada. The buzz here in Las Vegas has been consistently for Bush...in public - LVRJ had a poll last week with W up by 10 - and the Rep base has 3 pet issues to be concerned about on the ballot, all involving lawyers and doctors.

Posted by: Glen Johnstone at November 2, 2004 10:21 PM

Well, I don't think networks have officially called Colorado, but it's an 8-point lead with 66% reporting, I'd call it safe.

With that plus New Mexico and Ohio(tight, but looking good) Bush wins.
Don't need Nevada, don't need Wisconsin, don't need Iowa, don't need Hawaii.(Do need Alaska, but I'm not too worried.)
