What use are alliances, when our allies goal is to hamstring us?
And how does that square with Kerry's promise a minute ago never to "ask permission" before going to war?

For the most part, Old Europe doesn't have the strength to project themselves much beyond their borders.
It's like those people who can't be without a girlfriend/boyfriend.
Classic Kerry straddle, trying to have it both ways.
The bit about never sending troops in without a plan to 'win the peace' was amusing, too.
Could "winning the peace" mean sitting down with Osama and talking it out. "If you won't hit me again, then I won't hit you back....OK Osama?"
