Everlasting Gratitude
Posted by Stephen Green  ·  15 July 2004

I ever meet Stacy Tabb in person, I'm gonna kiss her right on the mouth.

Yes, the new site design is by Sekimori. I said, "Something Sky Captain-y," and man, did she deliver.

UPDATE: Stacy's own site has that fresh, clean scent, too. The woman is a design genius. Hire her already.

Great look!

Hey, he stole my name!

Oh, and great new look!

Posted by: andy at July 15, 2004 06:54 PM

Before I criticize, I like it. I don't like cheesey text under vodkapundit. Perhaps a cool handle for Will could replace it.

Posted by: aaron at July 15, 2004 06:55 PM

Man, if I knew what that meant I'd address it...

Posted by: Sekimori at July 15, 2004 06:55 PM

Awesome.

Posted by: dorkafork at July 15, 2004 07:04 PM

Great new design! You read my mind- I was about to whip up a new top graphic all free-like just so it would be something a little more fresh.

Nicely done....

Posted by: brian perry at July 15, 2004 07:19 PM

Wow, Suddenly I feel underdressed.

Posted by: Frank Martin at July 15, 2004 07:27 PM

And a new photo too!

Posted by: Mark at July 15, 2004 07:50 PM

Am I missing the permalink?

Oh, I found it. It's invisible. I'm running IE 6.0 on WinXP if that helps Stacy.

Posted by: Sean Hackbarth at July 15, 2004 07:53 PM

I'm glad you found it, Sean. I'm running Firefox 0.92 on Win2K.

How's 'bout a treasure map to the permalink?

Posted by: McGehee at July 15, 2004 08:13 PM

<snort>

Okay, I did know that permalinks don't publish on the individual entry page...

On the main page, however, it jumped right off my monitor screen and bit me in the nose.

Posted by: McGehee at July 15, 2004 08:19 PM

*coughcoughcough* :)

Posted by: Sekimori at July 15, 2004 08:22 PM

Dude. Great site design. I mean it. Really. Now the girlfriend is going to have to find some different art to revamp my site. We really like those Martini glasses. She just wasn't fast enough ...

Damn.

Posted by: Matt at July 15, 2004 08:24 PM

VERY nice new look! Distinguished. If I had money, I would hire her. Until then, I have to design my own.

Posted by: Linda at July 15, 2004 08:25 PM

The martinis sure do fit the future of thirties thing.

Which reminds me: it's 2004 A.D, -- where the hell's my flying car?!

Posted by: David [.net] at July 15, 2004 08:34 PM

The jaw, she drops. Stacy never fails.

Posted by: Lileks at July 15, 2004 08:39 PM

I said the same thing when I saw the demo last night, Lileks.

Well, if "holy crap, wow" is an anagram for what you said.

All hail Sekimori, empress-goddess of web design.

Posted by: Stephen Green at July 15, 2004 08:44 PM

Wow... I'm impressed!

I have to admit, the Art Deco martinis do it for me...

Posted by: Jay Reding at July 15, 2004 08:58 PM

Found the permalink graphic. I'm blaming it on an IE bug.

Anyway, nice very nice. But aren't those martinis lined up in a sort of facist/communist fashion?

Posted by: Sean Hackbarth at July 15, 2004 09:02 PM

Slick. Very slick.

Pamela preferred it the old way, though. Oh well, time marches on...

Posted by: Erbo at July 15, 2004 09:07 PM

Wowzer!

Starring the VodkaPundit, and his sidekick Will!

Posted by: ed at July 15, 2004 09:07 PM

Excellent design. How many drinks did you have just before the photo was taken?

Posted by: Average Joe at July 15, 2004 10:33 PM

Joe, I was stone, cold sober.

But I swear to God, it was early in the day.

Posted by: Stephen Green at July 15, 2004 10:54 PM

It's so pretty, I hafta pee. It's why Stacy is the Queen, and I'll always be just a Princess...

Posted by: robyn at July 15, 2004 11:42 PM

Someday I'll be able to afford her. She's obviously worth it. :-)

Posted by: Dean esmay at July 16, 2004 01:09 AM

Very nice - classy even!

Posted by: bogie at July 16, 2004 06:02 AM

Stacy, a good nickname for Will.

Posted by: aaron at July 16, 2004 07:59 AM

Great new look! But that picture makes you look like Hank Williams, Sr. (as played by George Hamilton). Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Posted by: Angie Schultz at July 16, 2004 08:32 AM

Thanks, Angie -- but the compliments really ought to go to Sekimori.

As for George Hamilton, I'm not joking when I say he's been my role model since I was a teen.

No one has gained more fame and fortune, for doing less, while having a great time and maintaining a perfect tan.

My kinda guy.

Posted by: Stephen Green at July 16, 2004 08:37 AM

1. Love the new look. Something about the layout reminds me of the Japanese bar in "Lost in Translation."

2. Stephen, who replaced your picture with Charlie Sheen's mug shot?

3. I concur about Stacy - I loved Stacy's design for my own site, and many others. She's worth every penny.
