It's all fun and games until someone gets three fractured vertebrae...
Rivalry is one thing, but what Bertuzzi did was ridiculous. Maybe he didn't mean for it to go as far as it did, but don't tell me he wasn't out to hurt Moore.
Feh.
My feelings about the NHL really help me understand the frustration that those on the hard core left feel every day. You see I am a hockey elitist. I cannot fathom how anyone who loves sport cannot absolutely love hockey. I find myself ranting against the sheeple who are too blind and stupid to know what is good for them. I long for the day when the NHL is forced onto every television in America, until the ignorant masses in Arkansas and Alabama renounce NASCAR and get their priorities straight.
Like hockey live. Growing up in PA, I had the Caps, Flyers, Devils, and Rangers within driving range. Got to see The Hershey Bears (AHL) play all the time as a kid. However, I can only watch about 5 minutes of it on TV before I start chewing thru the remote. The camera work SUCKS! The entire flow of the game is lost. I'd rather watch competitive house painting... Oh, congrats BOLTS!
ricky... i know its hard for americans to get good hockey camera work...
the evil government owned CBC does beautiful work covering canadian games...
course it helps that everyone up and down the chain knows the game since the age of 2... whereas in the US the camera guys generally don't have a clue and its just another day's work...
I think a better step would be to pay Bertuzzi significantly less than $6.8 million a year to play up to 82 games in front of, what, 12,000 fans on average?
Don't get me wrong, I like hockey, but its pay scale is way out of whack with the revenue generated. Cripes, it's almost as good as government work.
the economics seem to work somehow...
and hockey does get a ton of money at the gate, much more than you would think...
or at least toronto does...
