Landscapers, electrician, hardware to install -- the works. No blogging for Steve today. So here are some links to keep you as busy as I'm going to be.
Ralph Peters says, "In this war, if you're not winning, you're losing."
Moe offers perspective on yesterday's torture video.
Joe Gandelman reminds us that life goes on, and quite nicely, too.
Vaclav Havel argues that it is "time to act" on North Korea.
Charles Krauthammer declares Intifada II is over, and that the Palestinians lost.
Andrew Sullivan might not be able to endorse Bush, but he's endorsing Dick Cheney's anti-NYT position.
I can't say I (yet) endorse this argument, but it bears examination.
News flash: Mel Gibson is rich and powerful.
News flash: European diplomacy yields disappointing results.
News flash: Jeff Goldstein is still funny.
NOTE: And why didn't I blog tonight? It was either that, or watch the new David Mamet movie. Not exactly a tough call.
I saw a few previews for Spartan, but had no idea it was Mamet. They should really emphasize that more--there's a lot of people out there (e.g. myself) who will watch a film without a second thought if it has Mamet's name on it.
Can't wait to hear your impressions.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess, but I've never really cared for Mamet's dialogue. Too much affectation in a faux gritty-realism sort of way.
Jeff Goldstein is funny, but damn it! I always liked the name Esther.
Now if I ever have a daughter, I'll have to name her something like Apple that not even a celebrity would think to ruin for me.
I'm definitely interested in your take on Spartan. I knew it was Mamet, and I like Mamet, but this got almost universally bad reviews that I avoided it. Is it even worth queueing at Netflix? :)
OT - unsurprisingly, it looks like your dark thoughts about Paul Johnson have come to pass.

Read the link to Sullivan...and noticed that a street fight is breaking out between the mainstream and alternative medias.
The whole blogosphere seems to be united in clobbering big media on war coverage and the 9/11 commission report. Talk radio (not just Rush) is also throwing body blows and just lambasting the NY Times and other papers.
The result? Support for Bush and the war is increasing despite blatant and intentional subversion by the media. Advantage: blogosphere!
