Back in August, I wrote:
And the fact is, we have – now that Libya is paying its Lockerbie debt – settled our score. We have won this particular battle. And if we haven't defeated Gaddafi unconditionally, we have at least beaten him back to where we can deal with him. Libya is certainly less of a bother, and possibly less recalcitrant, than France.
I didn't know the half of it:
ElBaradei and his team of experts visited four nuclear sites in and around Tripoli on Sunday, dismantling equipment and putting it in boxes.
Six inspectors will be in Libya until Thursday.
The UN team's visit is part of an international effort to ensure the African country has no weapons of mass destruction.
Last week, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi announced his country was abandoning its efforts to produce weapons of mass destruction.
He promised full transparency and co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
It's that last line that really gets me -- because I believe it.
