The key quote in that story is from Bernard Lewis, and reiterates the point about Wahhabi impotence without oil money. So a key question behind this mess is: what principle in the West said that the oil money belonged to whoever happens to inhabit Arabia, rather than those who produce it?
There is a long history of surrendering, in the West, to this principle, and now we are experiencing the true meaning of blowback.
