Yeah, yeah, yeah -- I took a day off.
And I'm workin on the Dean thing again. I keep changing my damn mind and throwing it out. Anyway, what I'm working on now is IT.
At least until I read the news again tomorrow.
Well, while you're thinking about what to write, here's something for you to hammer away at:
Dean is good for the democrats--sort of. I think a strong Dean run does everything in the world to kill of a Green party candidate. Dean is far enough left, and loud enough about his opposition to the president, that he sucks a good portion of the Green Party base right away.
He won't be the candidate for Bush to beat come election time, but he'll have brought part of the fringe back into the party. When he endorses Kerry or Lieberman (yeah, I'm making predictions, damnit), some of the kids will still vote Green, but a good portion of them will take his advice and vote Dem.
The bad part for the Dems (and the reason they should be damned glad for Lieberman) is that Dean sounds increasingly close to that loony-left fringe that alienates voters almost as well as a Pat Buchanan speech. If it weren't for Lieberman, Dean could single-handedly run off most of the center left--especially since every candidate of note (other than Lieberman) is being pulled further left to try to attract attention away from the Dean campaign.
So, for the Democrats, Dean is good but only because he's balanced by Lieberman.
