I'm glued to the TV news, much as I imagine you probably are. Troops are moving the their Lines of Departure, our warplanes are bombing, Special Forces are doing secrety special forces things in secrety Iraqi places.
This isn't the calm before the storm, this is the over-caffeinated, goddamn-I-want-a-cigarette, nail-chewing, worrying, praying-for-the-best, anxious, excited, may-I-please-have-a-cigarette, 100-mph-winds-ty-fucking-phoon-before-the-storm.
Back in a few.
I'm working, so you're actually my news 'til about 4:30 CST. I figure you'll be one of the first to post pertinent updates so I'm checking in here whenever no one's looking.
tick tock
yeah, it's Drudge, Fox, Yahoo, EVERYONE, but still nothing. I think it'll happen 30 seconds after the deadline. No need in waiting.
I still think about 45 minutes into the Oscare telecast would have been a great symbolic moment to start. Of course other considerations are more important than symbolism.
"Oscare" was a mistake, but I kind of like it.
Stephen, I anticipate going through at least a pack of smokes between now and bedtime tonight. Buddy, if I could, I'd send you one through the 'net; since I can't, I'll make sure I smoke one for you. Since I can't drink any more, would you have one for me?
Steve, I'll dedicate my first Scotch tonight to you.
Any chance you smoke Camels?
Bleary eyed in the U.K (0.40AM). A few empty wine bottles in the bin, dearly beloved fast asleep. How the hell do I go to bed now, 20 minutes to go. May be late for work in the morning.
