Can you imagine that, reading a blog in chronological order?
It's reading from the bottom up while drunk that confuses me.
I think I'll have to assume that those folks posting hasty cheers at how neatly Bush was 'stealing' the Democratic agenda or whatever were joking.
In the face of news that we're going to experience a $300B or more deficit, he's insisting upon pushing through additional tax cuts to accompany previous cuts that proved useless to bolster the economy or provide new jobs.
How do you guys think he's going to pay for all of that stuff he insists he's asking Congress for? There. Is. No. Money.
As it is, y'all are going to give him kudos for four or five decent ideas and when none of these measures are passed by Congress, you're going to say it's not Bush's fault.
It's. His. Fault. And nothing, not even trying to bury the audience under a landslide of warmongering rhetoric, is going to be able to disguise that for much longer.
Issues of war aside, this Administration lacks the slimmest clue of what to do about the economy. So they "do" for their friends instead.
My only consolation is there is finally a rising tide of voices publicly protesting what's happening in Washington these days.

Dan S., I saw that and was stupefied that Pelosi couldn't manage a more coherent statement. She either has not read up on the topic or is ill-prepared for the heat of the national spotlight on serious issues. Serious issues such as which countries have nukes, and which don't, and which have hidden programs. I guess she slept though those intelligence committee meetings.
Of course, this is part of a larger problem for the Democrats. It has been 1 1/2 years since 9/11, and at least 6-8 months since the topic of war with Iraq began getting serious, and they still have no coherent message on either topic. The bizarre tactic of voting for the resolution authorizing force, and now opposing it, is particularly telling.
But, Anne, even Paul Krugman reluctantly agreed that those piddling little checks helped.
