40,000 Denver metro residents have now been forced from thier homes by the Hayman fires.
The winds are bad here, and worse there. And the fire season isn't really even underway yet. That's the scary part.
Gotta love Colorado summers, right?
Yesterday, I took a break from work to snag a smoke, and visibility outside was about 300 yards. Thick smoke was covering everything, and I work up in Lafayette (by Boulder). My Significant Other is currently in south central Denver, and may be evacuated. Scary.
Me, I'm in Fort Fun. Nothing ever happens here.
This is some bad shit, man.
Actually, AP got that story wrong. About 1000 people have been evacuated. About 30,000 (including us) are on evacuation alert. Still sucks though.
Uh Matt, did you light up, or just go outside and take a deep breath?
